ARMY'S BLACK LION AWARD

The Black Lion Award plaque, presented to the United States Military Academy in 2004 by the Army Football Club, occupies a position of prominence in the Army football locker room, with the names of Army's Black Lion Award recipients engraved on it for all West Point football players, present and future, to see - before and after every practice and game. The first West Point football player to be honored as the Black Lion Award winner was defensive end Will Sullivan, from Atlanta, Georgia, in 2004. In 2005 the Black Lion Award was presented to running back-return man Scott Wesley, from Pine Bluff, Arkansas, and the 2006 Army Black Lion Award was presented Mike Viti, of Berwick, Pennsylvania.
